Title
Incomplete copper alloy buckle of Early Early-Medieval date (AD 450 – AD 600).
Description
English: Incomplete copper alloy buckle of Early Early-Medieval date (AD 450 – AD 600). Length 28mm, width 38mm and 9mm thick. Weight 35.69g.

The buckle frame is D-shaped in plan and D-shaped in cross-section, It is flat on the underside and the inner face of the frame is bevelled. The bar is broken and missing and the break is old. The frame is tinned and there are iron corrosion deposits at the point where the frame made contact with the tip of the pin and also on the underside of the frame. The pin is missing. There appears to be some wear on the frame caused by the pin making contact. No evidence for burning or melting.
