SomeOneidas friendly to the Americans also came to St. Legers camp in hothaste, telling him that Burgoyne was cut to pieces, and that Arnold, withthree thousand men, \vas close by. Speaking the Mohawk language flu-ently, IIon Yost advised the Indians to fly instantly. A panic and aperfect stampede among them was the result.
