A TURKEY-COCK 215 rarity, I wrote a description of them and orderedthat their pictures should be drawn in the Ja-hangiri-nama with the view that their actual like-nesses might afford a greater surprise to the readerthan the mere description of them. One of the birds resembled a peahen, but wasa little larger in size, though less than a peacock.When he was desirous of pairing he used tospread his tail and feathers and danced about likea peacock. His beak and feet resembled those ofa barn-door fowl. His head, neck, and throatchanged their colour every minute, but whenanxious to pair he became a perfect red and seemedto be 9. beautiful piece of coral.
