English: The painting reminds of the abolition of the siege of Dutch Accra by the troops of the Akwamu king Accondo in 1733. During the four months of the siege, which took place on top of that at times of a very bad care crisis as a result of dry-conditioned crop failures, more people had died only in Accra of hunger than with fightings during the akwamu-akyem war continuing since 1728. The expression of thanks returned in this picture is directed in particular at the Dutchmen under their General-Director Jan Pranger (was in office in 1731-1735) which had stood aside their allies from Accra during this war actively.
