Title
Iron bladed object
Description
English: An iron object of undetermined date, cast in one piece and consisting of, what is probably, a handle section with a distinct blade section at one end. The handle has a sub-oval terminal with a notch cut into each side approximately halfway along it's length. The terminal itself has a small, elongated, sub-oval knop at it's apex. Below the terminal, the object narrows to form a "waist" before flaring out again. The main part of the object is an elongated triangle shape in plan which has been thinned and shaped into a curved blade at the end. This blade is damaged along the sharp edge due to corrossion and has an oval-shaped section missing. Apart from the narrowed blade, the object is rectangular in section.

There are no holes, fixings or attachment points obvious so this object is a stand-alone tool of some sort and not part of a larger artefact. It is suggested that it may be for working other materials such as leather or as a butchery or even medical tool such as a scalpel or fleam for bloodletting, but these suggestions are supposition and its true function is, as yet, unknown.
