Shall we descend once more into the shining sea-chamber of the Blue Grotto ?Shall we listen to the secret of the waves, and try to paint these mysterious splendours ?

A TOILET IN CAPRI. In vain ! The palettes whence the old painters drew their glorious tints are dry andempty, and a pen-and-ink sketch cannot attempt to reproduce them. But let me repeatonce more, that the Blue Grotto is by no means the most beautiful of all the beautifulthings to be seen in Capri. So we depart from the island. We take leave of the jolly company of artists wholive year in, year out, in the palm-shaded Hotel Pagano, or the Albergo di Don Luigion the height ; we take leave of the natives with their Greek cheerfulness, and wish toeach and all on the dear island, health and happiness. Hear the blessing of the strangerswhom ye have received beneath your roofs, or under the shelter of trellised leaves, andfeasted with your bread and your wine in the true spirit of hospitality ! Hear the bless-ing poured out upon your wave-kissed shores : May the kind god of the grape grant toyou throughout all future years, to celebrate your cheerful festivals, and to enjoy a liberalvintage
