Jane Meredith and Phyllis Morris enjoy a meal with Mr and Mrs Bailey, a miner and his wife, at their home in Trealaw. In addition to Jane and Phyllis, the Baileys also have evacuees Margaret and Douglas Ashington (aged 12 and 8 respectively) billeted with them. The Ashingtons were evacuated from Birmingham.
