Description
English: Title: Jno C. Fremont [and] Wm. L. Dayton. The champions of freedom!

Abstract: Print shows a campaign banner for Republican candidates John C. Fremont and William L. Dayton, produced for the presidential campaign of 1856. Oval bust portraits of the two candidates, Fremont on the left, appear in a frame decorated with stars and a shield. A small oval with a bust of George Washington appears below. Above the portraits is an eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch, flanked by American flags. Rays of light emanate from around the eagle. Physical description: 1 print on wove paper: lithograph ; image 40.5 x 46.8 cm.
