English: Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey reviews the Bronze Star Citation after pinning the medal on Czech Republic Staff Sgt. Michal Novotny, a medic with the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, Feb. 10, 2012. Novotny was awarded for heroism while assigned to the Czech Republic Provincial Reconstruction Team as a medic; he is credited with saving the life of a U.S. soldier after an improvised explosive device explosion. |
