What Can We Learx From Radiography of Accessory Sinuses? Of the anterior pictures, there are two of importance, (i), thattaken in the brow position and (2), that in the chin position (illus-trated by Figs. 1 and 2). The brow position: Caldwell adopted a brow position which iswell illustrated in Phillips text-book. The line of the median rayis parallel to the glabella and the parietal eminences and at an anglestrikes the plate which is touching the tip of the nose and the fore-head. In other words, the patient is face downwards with his browon the plate and the tube is above and in front of the occiput, or betterstill, the head is placed so that a line from the external auditorymeatus to the pupil is perpendicular to the plate resting on the browand nose. The median ray from the tube passes parallel to this linethrough the skull. The position is a good one for taking both frontals and sphenoidsand has as its only objection the tendency to bring the occiput, baseand sphenoids all in thejournalofophthal2319amer
