Title
KENT-73F096. Gold ring, Treasure case 2007 T44.
Description
English: CURATOR'S REPORT

Description of Find

Gold wire ring, comprising two strands of bevelled wire loosely twisted together. The ends of the wire have been hammered flat to fuse them together and close the loop.

Discussion

The ring bears resemblance to ear-rings of the Roman period, but would not have functioned as such. It may have been a finger-ring, but the hoop is rather narrow.
The ring was found in close association with KENT-7413A7; a sub-triangular piece of silver ingot, with one flattened edge. It is impossible to say if the two items are associated.
