Deutsch: Schlosskanonen in der Wagenremise von 1745 am Aufgang zum Schloss Hohenlimburg. Die vier Geschütze wurden zwischen 1996 und 2000 restauriert und neu lafettiert. Sie standen früher auf dem Kanonenplatz gegenüber dem Torhaus (heute Aussichtsterrasse). Neben ihrer Funktion als „Wahrzeichen“ stellen sie weltweit zurzeit die wohl genauesten Rekonstruktionen von Feldgeschützen nach dem System Gribeauval aus der Zeit um 1800 dar. Nach Hohenlimburg kamen sie Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts und dienten bei Geburtstagsfeiern und Empfängen des Fürstenhauses als Salutgeschütze. Anlässlich des Iserlohner Aufstands von 1849 wurden die Geschütze von Aufständischen geraubt und kamen erst 1851 zurück. – Ursprünglich handelt es sich bei den vier Kanonen um Schiffsartillerie, zwei Geschütze wurden 1793/1795 auf Großkampfschiffen der französischen Marine eingesetzt. Eine dritte wurde in einer schwedischen Gießerei gefertigt (erste Hälfte 18. Jh.). Eine Rarität ist das vierte Geschütz, es ist mehr als 300 Jahre alt und wurde ebenfalls in Schweden für den Gebrauch auf Schiffen unterschiedlichster Nationen gefertigt. |
