A short hike upstream took us to this spot. Just sit here awhile and listen to the Kern River splash over the rocks. Enjoy the beauty of God's creation. You will probably be the only one in sight.

We had a surprise one day. We heard a roar in the distance which became louder and louder until a fighter jet (no kidding) came swooping through the canyon following the river course. I'm sure some pilot was breaking the rules, but he gave us a thrill.
