Description
English: The Hamilton Street Railway's first route in 1874 was 3½ miles on James Street North from Stuart Street to King constructed at a cost of $7,000 per mile. They bought 6 cars with a seating capacity of 14 passengers for $850 apiece. They also bought 11 fare boxes at $11 apiece. Horses were purchased and housed at the stable on Stuart Street and the Hamilton Street Railway was in business.
