zarre du peintre,qui a représenté Judas se mettant la Sain-te Hostie en poche, tandis que les autresApôtres reçoivent de Jesus Christ le S. Sa-crement, pleins de dévotion & de re-cueillement. Le peintre a représenté la S.c Cene dansune Sale riche d Architecture, voûtes, pi-liers ec. mais nous avons été obligés denretrancher une partie, afin de représen-ter les figures dune juste grandeur,pour pouvoir en exprimer mieux le carac-tère , & la composition du tout ensemble,dans les bornes que nous nous sommes fixé. Vasari & Borghini nomment comme unouvrage très rare de notre peintre le ta-bleau de S. Margherite chez les Obser-vant in s de Cartone ; mais comme la S. Ce-ne en question fut peinte dix ans plustard que cet autre tableau, en I 5 12 ,cela nous la fait préférer, ayant observéque Luc Signorelli quoique âgé alors desoixante & dix ans, ne laissait pas detoujours perfectionner son art, & ses ou-vrages plus quUn avait fait en sa premie-re maniere.
