UNE FENÊTRE DE LA FAÇADE. Des quatre fenêtres de lordre inférieur dont deux seu-lement éclairent lintérieur, nous reproduisons ici celle quisouvre à gauche et qui est pareille aux autres, à part quel-ques détails décoratifs. Sur son encadrement courent desfeuillages finement sculptés, parmi lesquels des plaquetteset des petits médaillons aux profils de Saints, délicatscomme des camées. Elle est surmontée dune frise sculptéeà feston que soutiennent des amours, ornée daigles, etporte au centre une plaquette, tandis quun cadre marquetéet rempli dune pâte noire la complète avec ses sujetsfantaisistes exécutés en ronde bosse, ses sirènes à longuequeue squameuse accouplées à des candélabres, ses pe-tits amours nus et ses cornes dabondance. Ces fenêtres,pour leurs proportions parfaites, pour la variété charmantedes ornements, peuvent se placer parmi les plus réussiesque nous ait laissées la Renaissance, comparables auxportes du Palais Ducal dUrbin attribuées
