Description |
English: Regular visitors to this stream will know that it's been a constant struggle to find photographs with dogs in them to satisfy our resident canophile DannyM8. So in a break from scheduled programming, here's an engraving from our collections of prints and drawings. I'm going to try mix it up a bit from now on by adding some digitised maps or prints or ephemera, in addition to our daily photograph. Hope you'll all enjoy them. No doubt I'll hear about it if you don't! And as ever, any and all information will be very gratefully received...
Here then is Lady Boyd, Countess of Errol (born Rebecca Lockhart) with her faithful hound, unless he's just there as an artistic prop given that she's depicted as the Huntress Diana. It is a mezzotint engraving by James McArdell after a painting by Allan Ramsay. NLI Ref.: EP ERRO-RE (1) II |
