||
Description |
English: A cast copper alloy cosmetic mortar dating to the late Iron Age or Roman period. The mortar is incomplete and only the central portion remains. The mortar is boat-shaped and has a solid central projecting knob.
The fragment is similar to a mortar from Norfolk in R. Jackson Cosmetic Sets of Late Iron Age and Roman Britain (London:British Museum Press, 2010), British Museum Research Publication Number 181, pg 167, no. 389. |
