Late Saxon buckle
Description
English: The buckle is made from copper alloy. The frame is D shaped with zoomorphic heads (dolphins?) 'biting' the bar. Each head has a small engraved eye. The pin is missing. It is almost identical to examples recorded with the PAS from Ainderby Steeple, Hovingham and Newby Wiske, all North Yorkshire.
