Title
Late Upper Paeleolithic flake
Description
English: Later Upper Palaeolithic secondary flake (15,000-8,300 BC). The flake surface shows evidence cortex reforming giving an indication of the age of the flake, it is also patinated from light grey to white reflecting the deposition chalk downland.

On the dorsal surface (upper face) there are signs of platform preparation as well as arrises and negative bulb scars from previous removals and along the right edge there is some natural cortex. On the ventral surface (lower face) the bulb of percussion and bulb scars can be seen. There is short, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch on the left edge and distal end on the dorsal face. Weight: 10.88g, Length: 36.09mm, Width: 29.66mm, Thickness: 9.56mm.

These flints form part of a large collection of lithic implements and associated waste flakes from several concentrations on the Seven Sisters; see SUSS-80DBC3.
