Title |
Lead steelyard weight |
||
Description |
English: Lead steelyard weight, probably from the Roman period.
It is sub-spherical in shape, with one end narrowing into a rounded point. It has acylindrical iron core which runs the length oof the weight but the loop has broken off. The surface is marked with grooves, most likely caused by the plough from its time in the ground. |
