The various articles of apparel which now makeup the costume of the Iroquois, are precisely thesame that they were at the epoch of the discovery.No change has been made in the articles themselves,although there have been changes in the materials ofwhich they Avere made. The deer-skin, in laterdays, has been laid aside for the broadcloth, and theporcupine quill for the bead. By making a resub-stitution of material, the original costume would berecovered in full.
