LOUIS RIVARD-LAVIGNE Louis Rivard-Lavigne, fils de François Rivard-Lavi-gne et de Marie Bourbeau-Verville, fut baptisé à Gentilly,le 11 mars 1810. Il comptait parmi ses ancêtres lesPoisson, seigneurs de Gentilly. Au mois de mars 1835,il conçut, de concert avec son frère Joseph, le projet desétablir dans les Bois-Francs. Ils arrivèrent au Mont Christo quelques jours aprèsCharles Beauchesne. Ils se bâtirent une cabane dans levoisinage de Beauchesne. Quelques années plus tard,Louis Rivard-Lavigne vint habiter une autre cabane, surle chemin provincial, à lendroit oii est aujourdhui lamaison appartenant à lAvocat Jules Poisson, rang 3, lot5, cadastre 130. Cest là quil était, en 1848, avec safemme et ses cinq enfants. Louis Rivard-Lavigne sétait marié à Gentilly, le 12janvier 1836, à Adèle Durand, fille mineure de GillesDurand et de Angèle Houle. Ce fut la deuxième femmequi vint den;ieurer au Mont Christo.

Au centre J.-Bte Marchand.âDe gauche à droite Scholastique Beauchesne, Rosalie Beauchesne, François Beauchesne et Prosper Beauchesne LES BOIS-FRANCS 113 Le 5 février 1837, Louis Rivard-Lavigne fit baptiser,à Gentilly, son premier enfant, sous le nom dAdolphe. Ilétait né du 6 novembre 1836. Il est le second enfant néau Mont Christo. Adolphe Rivard-Lavigne demeureactuellement aux Etats-Unis. Je mentionnerai un autredes enfants de Louis Rivard-Lavigne : Adélaïde, baptiséeà Arthabaska (voir registres de Blandford), le 13 janvier1843. Le 14 janvier 1864, elle épousa, à Arthabaska,Isaac Rivard-Lavigne, fils de Olivier Jean Lavigne et deMarguerite Biais. Isaac Xavigne mourut à Saint-Norbert,le 12 juillet 1923, et son épouse, Adélaïde Lavigne, le 23 mai 1924. Louis Rivard-Lavigne mourut à Arthabaska, le 23janvier 1892, et son épouse, Adèle Durand, le 5 octobre1900, âgée de 84 ans.
