Les figurines antérieures ont toutes un caractèrearchaïque accentué: dans cette terre molle, facile à pétrir et àmanier, qui garde si heureusement lempreinte du moule et dudoigt, la légère couche de couleur et de dorure, elles furentdabord prisonnières comme dans le métal et le marbre les plusdurs.
