Description
English: Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Bret Frisius, attached to Helicopter Maritime Squadron (HSM) 35 Detachment 1, shows a student from John F. Kennedy High School’s robotics class the MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned aerial vehicle during a ship tour while in port Guam for a brief fuel stop. The HSM 35 aviation detachment aboard littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) is from the Navy’s first composite expeditionary helicopter squadron and includes one MH-60R Seahawk helicopter and one Fire Scout. Currently on a 16-month rotational deployment in support of the Asia-Pacific Rebalance, Fort Worth is a fast and agile warship tailor-made to patrol the region’s littorals and work hull-to-hull with partner navies, providing 7th Fleet with the flexible capabilities it needs now and in the future.
