English: Local women and children look through the window at soldiers from Charlie Company, 3-505th Infantry Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C., as they enter their home in a local village outside of Khowst, Afghanistan, during a Sensitive Site Exploration. Women are not allowed to be viewed by strangers according to the religion of Islam. The soldiers will search and confiscate weapons, suspicious documents or items found in the area that are not authorized by the villages during Exercise Alamo Sweep on Oct. 1, 2002. The operation will help restore peace and bring stability to Afghanistan during the war on terrorism. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Eric E. Hughes) (Released). . |
