Threeof them were rebuilt and a truck put underthe front end. These were noted for effi-ciency in passenger service. MILHOLLANDS HIAWATHA. Philadelphia & Reading, in improving thelocomotive. The ten-wheelers of thesame class as the Dubuque were builtby Norris some time in the 50s, when allother builders except Ross Winans wereadhering to inclined cylinders, hay-stackfireboxes and other ancient practices.That engine looks quite modern, hasspread truck and firebox above the frames. A committee of the Traveling EngineersAssociation, of which Mr. W. R. Scottis chairman, have sent out a circular, ask-ing questions relating to fuel supply andwater supply.
