Mr. Ferras is a Brazilian who hasbeen with the road since boyhood, grad-ually advancing until he attained his pres-ent position. The fifth, and last is Mr. Alexander Ro-bau, born in France, but for many yearswith the Central of Brazil. He resigned hisposition as master mechanic at San Paulosome months ago to go into business, and The Boys Named Em. A long time ago an engineer on the FallBrook road made a fast run down severalbad grades with a coal train, and the super-intendent heard of it. He not only calledthe engineer upon the carpet, but he putup boards at the head of all stifif grades,stating just how many minutes freighttrains must use in getting to the bottom.
