DescriptionLovettsville, Va., outdoorsman doubles down 130603-M-IV927-001.jpg |
English: Corporal Gary Martz, the counter improvised explosive device equipment chief with Regimental Combat Team 7, is responsible for providing counter-IED equipment to the units within the RCT’s area of operations. Martz, a 26-year-old native of Lovettsville, Va., and an artillery scout observer by trade, is also responsible for facilitating the fire support process for RCT units. “I use a series of several computers and radios to communicate with subordinate units to ensure they get necessary surface-to-surface fire support in a timely and efficient manner,” Martz said. Martz, no stranger to multitasking, once killed two deer with the same bullet during a hometown hunting trip. |
