English: POLARIS POINT, Guam (May 8, 2015) Rear Adm. William Merz, left, commander, Submarine Group 7, and Capt. Mark Benjamin, commanding officer of the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) look over a plaque with the names of all of Frank Cable’s commanding officers in the ship’s carpenter shop during a tour. In addition to the tour, Merz held a luncheon onboard Frank Cable to meet with leadership and discuss his expectations for submarines under his command. Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
