In a case re-ported by Labbe the arytenoid exfoliated, was inspired, and caused death. A formedsequestrum may be buried for years. When cicatrization occurs, stenosis almostinvariably follows. The gummatous formof laryngeal syphilis may persist formonths or even years before ulcerationappears. The necrosis is at first evidentnear the center and gradually extendsuntil the gummatous tissue is removed. If treatment be instituted early, ulcera-tion may be escaped. Cicatrization of the tertiary lesions of syphilisis commonly followed by intractable contraction, giving rise (tostenosis (syphilitic stricture of the larynx). Sy()hilis of the See Robertson, Jour.
