Description
English: In this detail of a printed map, Sneden has juxtaposed troop locations during First Bull Run (21 July 1861) and Second Bull Run (29-30 August 1862). He has also noted the location where Union General Philip Kearny was shot by Confederate troops in 1862; the line of command of the Union Army's Department of Washington as of January 1863; and the Union monument erected at the First Bull Run battlefield in 1869.
