English: A 3rd Marine Regiment Marine, stationed in Huntsville, Ala., drives a light armored vehicle 2A52 down 9th Street in Cleveland, June 11, 2012, as part of Marine Week Cleveland. The LAV-2A52 can hold up to seven Marines, three crew and four infantrymen and can travel up to 62.2 miles per hour on land. Multiple Marine Corps vehicles drove through downtown on their way to static display locations at Gateway Plaza and Public Square. The static displays are one of several venues open to the public during Marine Week June 11-17. Nearly 800 Marines will be in Cleveland all week displaying Marine aircraft, vehicles and equipment, as well as interacting with and educating the public on the values and character of the Marine Corps. One of the culminating events will be a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration, which showcases Marines' ability to assault from ship-to-shore via ground and air, June 16-17 at Burke Lake Front Airport. |
