English: Residents of Fundo Island, a small islet that is part of Pemba Island, get water from one of the island's few access points Sept. 14. Maritime Civil Affairs Team 115 initiated a project to install seven 5,000 liter water cisterns to enable the residents of Fundo to have a reliable water source during power outages, which disable the pumps that supply Fundo through a pipeline from the main island of Pemba. The Little Creek, Va., based MCAT 115 is deployed to Tanzania as part of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. Maritime Civil Affairs Teams are deployed worldwide to assess partner-nation infrastructure and enhance capacity. |
