This neutralizesthe effect of the alkali of the soap. Hot and cold water applicationsare among the most valuable tonics that have ever been discovered forthe hair and scalp. In making these applications use water as hot andas cold as you can stand it, for this invigorates the hair and acceleratesthe circulation of the blood around the scalp. In scalp treatment insome hair-dressing parlors this is done by soaking a towel in hot 01cold water and laying it on the head. This process prevents getting allthe hair saturated.
