Notes Waterloo Medal 1815 Medal awarded to Thomas Kelly, 2nd Battalion, 69th (South Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot. Two days before Waterloo the 69th Regiment faced the French at the battle of Quatre Bras. Here they faced a French cavalry charge and were forced to retreat. They suffered severe losses and the dishonour of seeing the regiment's King's Colour captured by the French. A much reduced force combined with the 33rd Regiment to fight at Waterloo. Their losses, killed, wounded or missing, from a force of 516 men, totalled 240.
