The border is ornate. rim inscr- SGT. A.C. HOLBROOK . BATH POLICE 1935 Ribbon- grosgrain ribbon 32mm wide, purple with three narrow stripes (dark blue, white, and dark blue) at each edge

Notes Silver Jubilee 1935 George V Hon. William Edward Barnard, CBE MP (1886-1958) William Edward (Bill) Barnard CBE (29 January 1886 – 12 March 1958) was a New Zealand politician. Barnard embarked with the 24th Reinforcements, Royal Army Medical Corps in April 1917 on the Moeraki, destined for Suez, Egypt. After serving for a time in Egypt, he transferred to Royal Field Artillery, Gunner 271978, serving in Palestine. Following the war, he returned to New Zealand and resumed practice as a lawyer. He became involved with young Labour in 1923, and was elected to the Labour Party's national executive in 1924. Admission as barrister of Supreme Court 29 July 1925. He was a Labour Member of Parliament for Napier from 1928 until 1943, and was its Speaker from 1936 till 1943. He undertook considerable work with various non-profit organisations, and he was awarded the Order of the Brilliant Star by the government of the Republic of China for services with the New Zealand Council for the Adoption of Chinese Refugee Children. In 1957, he was made a CBE. Barnard died in Auckland on 12 March 1958.
