Notes George V Jubilee medal 1935 with ribbon and bow Medal awarded to Jean Begg CBE Jean Begg was General Secretary of New Zealand YWCA from 1926. Begg fostered the formation of women's sports organisations and championed feminist causes through the YWCA. She served at different times as vice-president of the Auckland branch of the National Council of women of New Zealand, the YWCA General Secretary for India, Burma and Ceylon, and Director of British YWCA war services during WW2.
