Memorial Plaque in memory of Private Frederick Tucker Served WW1, service no 50113, Egyptian Expeditionary Force (1917-1918) Killed in action by a sniper, 1 April 1918, Palestine, aged 45 years; Memorial Name- Jerusalem Memorial, Israel. 50113 Trooper Frederick Tucker, 2nd Squadron Wellington Mounted Rifles, son of Edward and Sarah Ellen Tucker of Island Bay Wellington was born on 14 October 1872. A married man with one child he enlisted in 1917, commencing duty on 3 November, and embarking with the 29th Reinforcements on 13 November 1917, on SS Tofua. He served in Palestine where he was killed by a sniper on 1 April 1918.
