Notes The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - Officer (Civ) (OBE) GV Wing Commander Alfred Hardwick Marsack, OBE (Civ), RAF Military Service- Wing Cdr AH Marsack (1906-1966) WW2- Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Eastern Frontier, Italy Abyssinian Conflict, Palestine Disturbances, Aden, Western Desert McLintock- Encyclopaedia of NZ 1966 "Wing Commander Alfred Naumai Hardwicke Marsack, M.B.E. (1906– ). Director of Civil Aviation, Aden. Alfred Marsack was born at Auckland on 6 October 1906 and was educated at Cranbrook and Kings College, Auckland, New Zealand. From 1930 to 1944 he served in the RAF, attaining the rank of Wing Commander and being mentioned in dispatches. He was Middle East Director of the BBC (Cairo) for the next two years, when he became Public Relations Officer in Aden. From 1947 to 1949 he served in Hong Kong and, in the latter year, returned to Aden Protectorate as a Political Officer. From 1952 to 1962 he was Director of Civil Aviation."
