Title
Medieval Leaf Shaped Mount
Description
English: A copper alloy leaf shaped object that is probably a mount probably dating to the Medieval period. The object is leaf shaped in plan with a circular perforation at the top and a knob at the termination. The perforation was probably used to fix the object onto whatever it mounted. One side of the mount is decorated with incised dotted lines to give it the appearance of a leaf, the other side is undecorated. The object is heavily corroded in places, mainly down the right hand side of the object. The metal is green. It weighs 8.7g and measures 72.67mm in length and 24.27mm in width. The thickness of the knob is 4.28mm and the thickness of the object itself is 1.60mm.
