Title
Medieval Single Loop Buckle
Description
English: An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy single loop oval buckle with ornate outer edges, narrowed and offset strap bars, c. 1250-1400 AD. The oval buckle frame is decorated on the outer edge with two lobed knops flanking transverse grooves; the strap bar is narrowed and offset, with a small fragment of the buckle plate still wrapped around the bar, held in place by the pin, which is still completely intact. Cf. Whitehead 2003, p. 22, no. 86.
