Title
Medieval buckle: Single looped buckle
Description
English: A small single looped copper alloy buckle dating to the medieval period, c. AD 1250-1350. The buckle has an angled outer frame with a raised plain moulding running around the top and bottom of the frame. The inner area may have been decorated but nothing now survives or is recognisable. The pin bar is narrowed from the frame and circular in section; there is a small notch on the outside of the frame for the pin to rest in, although the pin does not survive.
