Title
Medieval copper alloy buckle fragment
Description
English: Part of a medieval copper alloy lyre-shaped buckle frame. The curved section of the buckle has a raised black letter inscription in medieval French PENSE BIEN or 'think well'. The right hand side of the frame is broken at the edge of the inscription but on the left there is a small area of diagonal incised lines that may result from manufacturing proceses. A very similar buckle but more complete can be seen at NMS-E76843.
