Title
Medieval crotal bell
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy crotal bell dating from the Medieval to the Post-Medieval Period (1100-1700). The object is spherical and consists of two halves joined by a raised median band. The upper half has two perforated circular holes on each half on the object. Each hole is in-filled with iron corrosion. On the lower half there are two circular perforations which are joined by a rectangular perforation. These are also in-filled with a compact mix of soil and iron corrosion. At the top of the object would have been a rectangular attachment loop which is missing. There is no visible decoration on the object. The object has a mid-green patina and is corroded.
