Medieval single loop buckle
Description
English: An unusual probable Medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle frame. The loop is D shaped, it has an ornate outside edge in the form of a large barrel-like swelling which has two central incised grooves running parallel. The sides of the frame are broadly circular and widen and thicken from the strap bar to the central moulding. The strap bar is narrowed and offset with knops at either end. The pin is missing.

The frame measures 23.85mm long, 39.5mm wide and 9.35mm (max) thick. It weighs 8.0 grams.
