Title
Medieval single loop buckle
Description
English:

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy buckle and plate probably dating to the 12th - 14th century. The buckle has an oval frame with off-set cross-bar with an expanded outer edge and an oval cross-section. The pin bar is narrowed, the pin is missing. The plate is rectangular in plan and has been folded over around the pin bar, there is a recess for where the pin would have been located. There are two perforations at the edges of the plate, the rivets are missing. A later additional perforation and nail? is located inbetween the two perforations, probably a repair.

Dimensions: length: 37.4mm; width: 22.6mm; thickness: 5mm; weight: 5.9g.
