Medieval single loop buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy medieval buckle dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1400. The strap loop is broadly ovular in plan and D-shaped in profile. It consists of an angled broadly ovular plate which features a logitudinal groove running along each edge. From this plate extend two rearward projecting arms which each terminate in a small knop. These are joined by a narrow bar which connects to each knop.

The buckle measures 24.22mm in length, 9.13mm maximum width, 1.74mm minimum width and weighs 3.05g.
