loono STILLA LATITUDINE DEL R. OSSERVATORIO DI TORINO MEMORIA DI G. BOCCARDI Approvata nellAdunanza del 4 Dicembre 1910. I. — Notizie storiche. Lincarico assunto dal R. Osservatorio di Torino nel Congresso per la Cartadel Cielo (Parigi 1909) di riosservare 5000 stelle necessarie per la riduzione dellelastre fotografiche dellOsservatorio di Catania, e la riosservazione delle declinazionidelle 594 stelle del mio Catalogo di fondamentali di secondordine, richiedono unuso continuo del cerchio meridiano di Bamberg acquistato recentemente ; e poichénella riduzione delle osservazioni per la declinazione, come per altre ricerche, potràoccorrere di fare uso della latitudine dellOsservatorio, ho creduto opportuno ride-terminare questo elemento fondamentale mediante osservazioni nel meridiano, ese-guite con ristesso istrumento che serve per le declinazioni. E stata questa una delleprime prove delleccellente strumento, il quale se in una ubicazione infelicissima,come quella di Palazzo Madama,
