NARC-2772C0 : Brooch : Trumpet Derivative
Description
English: A fragment of a probable Trumpet Derivative Brooch of Roman date (AD 43-100). The retained fragment is the lower portion of the bow and catchplate. The bow is moulded with two transverse collars with a trilobed foot. One of the lobes is missing a section. The lobes form three elongated ovals with some retained blue enamel in the central lobe. The back of the object retains a fragmented central catchplate.

The metal is a dark green in colour with a smooth patina.

Length: 25.31mm, Width: 11.49mm, Thickness (bow): 3.04mm, Weight: 2.4g.
